Full day
Winelands Tour
Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl in one unhurried day, with tastings at the estates, a proper lunch stop — and a designated driver all the way home.
Forty-five minutes inland from the city the mountains open into the valleys that have been making wine since the 1680s. This tour takes in the three best known of them — Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl — with tastings at the estates and time to sit down and eat properly.
The reason to book a guide for a wine day is simple: nobody in your party has to stay sober, watch the clock, or work out where the next farm is. We handle the routing, the bookings and the driving.
Where we go
-
1
Stellenbosch
Oak-lined streets, Cape Dutch gables and a university town at the centre of South Africa’s oldest wine region. We taste on the estates surrounding the town.
-
2
Franschhoek
The French Corner, settled by Huguenot refugees in 1688 and now the valley people come to for the food as much as for the wine.
-
3
Paarl
The broadest of the three valleys, under the granite domes of Paarl Rock — big estates, long views and some of the region’s best-known reds.
-
4
Tastings & lunch
Estate tastings through the day and a lunch stop at a farm restaurant. Tasting fees and meals are settled at each estate — tell us the style of wine you like and we will shape the route around it.
